Annabel Jones is a public relations specialist, contributing writer for CHARLIE magazine and The Local Palateand kitchen table food blogger in Charleston, S.C.

After graduating from the College of Charleston in 2010 with a bachelor’s in French and a minor in business administration, Annabel completed a post-baccalaureate internship with one of North Florida’s award-winning public relations firms, AXIA Public Relations. In 2011, Annabel returned to historic Charleston, S.C. as the new Director of Public Relations & Social Media for one of the nation’s fastest growing franchise lead generation companies.In addition to her 9-to-5 position, Annabel served as the publicist for the Cannonborough Beverage Company, Reclaimed DesignWorks, and Folbot, freelances for several publications, and helped out at ‘the coop’ for ByrdHouse Public Relations.

After two years, Annabel returned to academia at her alma mater in pursuit of a master’s degree in communication; she will graduate in May of 2015. Her areas of interest and research focus on public relations, interpersonal communication, social media, and health– particularly women’s health and chronic pain. Annabel has served as the primary investigator and as part of research teams. She is currently working on joint venture between the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina exploring healthy weight and HPV vaccination adoption.

Jones’ first journal article is schedule to be published in The Journal of Health Communication in 2015.
